High-rise condos off Wisconsin Avenue, townhomes in Woodmont Triangle, family homes in Edgemoor and Kenwood. In-house crews, hourly billing, and a team that plans around your building’s rules.
A Bethesda move is rarely about distance — Bethesda is about 15–20 minutes down Rockville Pike or I-270 from our Rockville base. The time goes into everything around the truck: reserving a freight elevator in a downtown condo, fitting a box truck into a loading dock with a height limit, or finding curb space on a narrow street in Edgemoor during the school run.
That is why we plan Bethesda moves in detail before moving day. When you book, we ask about your building’s loading dock hours, elevator reservation, certificate-of-insurance requirements and parking. The more of that we sort out up front, the less of your hourly time goes into waiting.
Our crews are full-time, background-checked MVD employees — never day labor — and every job includes furniture pads, shrink-wrap and disassembly/reassembly of standard furniture. Whether you are moving from a one-bedroom on Bethesda Row to a house in Bradley Hills, or out of a family home in Wildwood into a condo in North Bethesda, it’s the same crew from the first box to the last.
Same pricing as everywhere we work: an hourly rate for a 2- or 3-mover crew, plus a one-time 1-hour arrival fee for the truck and travel. Crossing the Beltway doesn’t change the arrival fee.
Example
A 3-mover crew works 5 hours from arrival to the end of unloading. You pay 5 hours of crew time + the 1-hour arrival fee = 6 billable hours at your crew’s hourly rate.
Because the total depends on the time actually worked, we don’t give fixed prices in advance. What we do give you up front is the hourly rate for your crew, so you can plan.
How our pricing worksYou choose a 2-mover or a 3-mover crew. Each has its own hourly rate, and you only pay for the time the crew actually works.
One hour added once per move. It covers the truck and the crew’s drive from our office to your Bethesda address and back to the office afterwards.
The clock starts when the crew arrives at your job and stops when the last item is unloaded. That’s when your total is calculated — together, on the spot.
No fuel surcharges and no stair fees. Pads, shrink-wrap and furniture disassembly are part of the job.
These details make the biggest difference in how long a Bethesda move takes — and with hourly billing, time is what you pay for.
Most condo and apartment buildings in downtown Bethesda and along Wisconsin Avenue require a reserved move window, often only on certain days. Book it as soon as you have a date and tell us the window — we schedule the crew to arrive at its start.
Many Bethesda buildings ask the moving company for a certificate of insurance (COI) naming the building or management company. Send us the requirements when you book and we will provide it before move day.
Some garages and docks can’t take a full-size moving truck. If the truck has to park on the street, metered spaces near Bethesda Row and Woodmont Triangle go fast — a cleared spot near the entrance saves real time.
Many houses in Edgemoor, Battery Park and Kenwood have narrow stairways and tight landings. Tell us about large pieces (sectionals, armoires, king beds) so we bring the right tools and plan disassembly.
Wisconsin Avenue and Old Georgetown Road are slow at rush hour. An early start on a weekday or a weekend move usually means less time in traffic between your old and new homes.
Bethesda is home to NIH and Walter Reed, so many moves here are tied to a new posting or contract with a fixed start date. Tell us your report date and we will plan backward from it.

Crew size is the biggest lever on your total. A bigger crew has a higher hourly rate but finishes faster, so for larger homes it is usually the better deal. As a starting point:
| Home | Typical crew | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Studio or 1-bedroom condo | 2 movers | Elevator buildings move at the pace of the elevator — a third mover rarely saves time. |
| 2-bedroom apartment or condo | 2 or 3 movers | 3 movers if there’s a long walk from the dock, or a lot of furniture. |
| Townhouse | 3 movers | Multiple floors and stairs — one mover stays on the truck while two carry. |
| Single-family home (3+ bedrooms) | 3 movers | More volume and more stairs; 3 movers keep the hours down. |
Not sure? Tell us your inventory when you book and we’ll recommend a crew size before the move.
